Private tutor in Boston, MA
University of Denver - BA, Anthropology
I am a tutor with experience in many different subjects, working with students of varying levels of education. I have tutored younger students, providing childcare as well as general teaching lessons. I was a National Honor Society officer, which gave me many opportunities to tutor fellow undergraduate peers. I tutor many subjects, though I specialize particularly in teaching History, Reading, Writing, study skills, organizational skills, and test preparation. I believe in working with my students to create a strong sense of self-reliance, problem solving, and strong study skills. Students should be taught skills that allow them to be independent learners. I have always been passionate about creating lessons that not only teach the subject material, but build a strong foundation for future learning. Individualized learning is something I strive towards, as no two students are the same. Utilizing different teaching styles, I create a positive learning environment that students can thrive in. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology from the University of Denver. I have done archaeological research around the world including Italy, Georgia, New York, and California. When I am not teaching, I spend my time learning about photography, reading nonfiction, running, and doing yoga.
