I earned a master's degree in mathematics education from Boston University. I graduated in May 2016 with a GPA of 3.91. I am certified to teach middle school math in Massachusetts. I majored in creative writing and minored in math at Oberlin college. I graduated in May 2015 with a GPA of 3.76. My math minor consisted of seven high level classes, and included discreet math, linear algebra, statistics, abstract algebra, and all levels of calculus.
Experience
I am a graduate of the Boston University school of education, where I specialized in mathematics education and became certified as a math teacher in Massachusetts. During the program, I student taught 7th and 8th grade math classes. I have experience teaching 7th and 8th grade math full time in short-term positions. In addition, I have years of experience tutoring all levels of math, from sixth grade fractions to high level IB mathematics and calculus. I earned a math score of 164 on the GRE. I've always found mathematics fun and interesting, and I want to share my love of math with others. I like teaching math to a wide range of students with different learning styles and levels of confidence. I believe every student can succeed in math, and I enjoy the challenge of adapting my teaching style to fit the students' needs.

I am a lifelong birdwatcher and I enjoy all kinds of outdoor recreation. I work as a nature educator during the summer. I also enjoy creative pursuits like fiction writing and playing music. I studied creative writing in college, and I still read and write short stories in my spare time. I have a passion for music, and wrote music reviews in college.
