Private tutor in Boston, MA

Education

I an a junior at Boston University and am double majoring in International Relations and Economics.

Experience

I have worked as a literacy tutor for the Boston University Initiative for Literacy Development. I have also worked for an elementary art education program called Student Studio. I have tutored high school students for the SAT for 2 years, and during high school I received tutoring for the SAT (so I am well acquainted with the process). During high school, I took 7 AP courses, thus I am also very familiar with the AP exams. I have taken Calculus 1/2 at the collegiate level and received a grade of B or higher for both. I am very comfortable working with kids ages 9-18. I enjoy helping students prepare for exams. In addition, I am currently a research assistant for a professor at BU. I have great written and reasoning skills.

Hobbies

I love art and I attended an art school till the age of 13. I also love music: everything from dubstep to gangster rap. Politics is my passion- I spend a lot of my time perusing news sites. I have never been a fan of the idea of standardized testing, but seeing as how it has become the cornerstone of modern day education, I find it particularly gratifying to help students perform better in test environments.
