Education

Hello there! Great to meet you! My name is Hyerin and I am currently attending MIT as a graduate student in architecture. I went to Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) for undergrad as a civil engineering major and a chemistry minor. I have always loved math and am thrilled to help other people learn just how easy and fun it is as well. (It's the one subject that you don't really have to memorize much for tests!) Through my tutoring experience, I have come to realize that some people need a little nudge to get their logic rolling--and it is amazing when that happens! I have gained a few study skills over the years that helped me get good grades in school and would love to share them with you. There is no need to feel panicky about school. You just need a bit of help, that is all. I am a patient tutor who will make sure that you achieve your goals as long as you are on board with me and try just as hard. I also love motivated students who are trying to get ahead in school or learn things that are challenging enough for them. If you have the ability and will, why not? I have extensive tutoring experience as mentioned below. In particular, I spent most of the year 2015 as a tutor living in Queens, NY, while applying to graduate schools. I have experienced a gamut of students, from an adult determined to get her required score for GRE quantitative to a discouraged 10th grader who was struggling to pass his Algebra regents test. I always figured out a way to adjust my tutoring style and pace so that the student will get the most out of the experience. (The lady ended up getting a far better score than she had predicted and the 10th grader finally passed his regents test, which we celebrated with a dinner!) I am confident that I can help you achieve your goals. I look forward to meeting you.
