Kevin N.
Private tutor in Boston, MA
Education
I received my BS in Biochemistry from Tufts University in 2016, where I graduated summa cum laude (3.83/4.00) and Phi Beta Kappa. I am now currently a first-year PhD student at Harvard University, studying Chemistry and Chemical Biology.
Experience
I am a dedicated mentor and tutor who has been tutoring for over 6 years. In high school, I tutored math, physics, chemistry, and biology, and when I moved to college I started a tutoring company managing high school tutors in my hometown. My experience has taught me that tutoring must be flexible, and that the tutor must be able to fit the material to the student, not the other way around. As a PhD student, I genuinely enjoy mentorship and teaching, as well as being a peer resource for others. In science, we realize that no one can be an expert at everything, and people must rely on each other for help in areas they find difficult to understand. I want to extend that mentality and pay it forward. In undergrad, I took a full year of organic chemistry and biochemistry, in addition to molecular biology and genetics. I will be a teaching fellow for organic chemistry at Harvard beginning next semester. My extensive background in biology and chemistry have served me well not only in research, but also in being able to explain fundamental concepts. I am generally free in the evenings and on the weekends. As a graduate student, it is difficult for me to schedule tutoring during mornings and afternoons as I will be performing research, but if you are free in the evening then please feel free to contact me!
