Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree in public health with a minor in Spanish from the University of Richmond and my graduate degree in public health from George Washington University. I love teaching and one of my academic goals is to eventually earn a doctorate in public health in order to teach at the university level while also conducting research. I have been tutoring students of all ages in a wide array of subject areas, however, my favorite subject to teach is math. Some of the courses I offer tutoring for include algebra 1 & 2, elementary algebra, elementary math, neuroscience, middle school math, science, reading, English, writing, pre-algebra, geometry, public health, medicine, and arithmetic. I also enjoy working with students to help them prepare for standardized exams such as the ACT and SAT. My approach to teaching is focused on the specific needs of the individual student. No two students are exactly the same and part of the process is learning about them as individuals before attempting to teach them. I find it quite rewarding to watch student's scores improve in different areas on their practice exams as this inevitably leads to an increase in their confidence and their enjoyment of the learning process.
