CUNY Hunter College - BA, Anthropology , The University of Texas at Austin - PhD, Anthropology
I enjoy finding new and creative methods of teaching that help students to better understand the concepts being presented. All knowledge learned in a classroom has real world applications and I work to teach this to my students. I use analogies and stories to help students make a practical connection and see the relevance in the material. I specialize in people and building relationships with them, which helps to make the learning environment more enjoyable for everyone. I have the skills necessary to create successful tutoring sessions and have applied them to my previous tutoring experience in France, where I worked with three individuals to learn English. I would like to tutor English, French, public speaking, social sciences, and standardized test prep. I have attended the University of Texas at Austin and CUNY Hunter College. I also earned my CELTA certification. Some of my personal interests are biking, improv comedy, performance art, reading, and social justice organizing.
