Rachel S.
Private tutor in Boston, MA
Education
Recently, I graduated from a college preparatory school in California, with a strong interest in Psychology. However, I was editor for our school's magazine, and a literary contributor to it. I currently attend the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and I am studying for a BS degree in Psychology.
Experience
I was an editor/tutor for High School Essay's. I took AP English in High School, and always excelled in reading and writing. When I was in second grade, I was reading at a fifth grade level, and by fifth grade, a tenth grade level. On essays, I usually scored a perfect score, and sometimes extra credit. Tutoring in the area of reading and writing seems like an appropriate fit for me so that I can assist young learners as they develop their reading and writing skills.

Hobbies
With my psychology degree, I hope to continue to Medical School and become a psychiatrist. My long term goal is to open up an untraditional facility for children and teenagers who have been abused in any type of way. Traditional in the sense that therapy methods would include animal therapy, music therapy, art therapy, exercise therapy, etc. I want to be able to show people ways to be happy in life, and not that there is something wrong with them, but that they just have to find the things that they can take with them to the outside world in order to overcome the trauma they have experienced. On a side note, I played basketball for three years, but love to watch soccer. I adore animals, and I love to exercise. There is so much to say about what drives and interests me, but I will leave it with that I always look for ways that I can be a better member of my community, while simultaneously pursuing my interests.
