Harvard College - BA, Sociology , Harvard Medical School - MD, Medicine
I am attending Harvard's Medical School in the hopes of becoming a physician. Before I chose this career path, however, I was ready to become a teacher. I feel that teaching is not only an important job, but also an enjoyable one. I have taught numerous courses over the years, as well as tutored students that needed the extra assistance. I do not focus on any particular age group, and have instead taught everyone from three- and four-year-old toddlers, to college-level students and older. I typically offered my skills for English courses, algebra, and physics, although I have also taught dance. I also focus on interview strategies, application essays, resume writing, and other college prep courses. My years of experience have shown me the best ways to communicate and get my concepts across. I interact with my students and monitor their habits to determine the best strategies for teaching them. I understand that each individual requires their own methods for understanding the material.I once tutored a member of the janitorial staff. I helped her pass the mathematics subject of the GED test. Doing this made me appreciate the need for standardized testing, and the differences in studying students should know for these exams. That is why I now offer assistance with SAT and ACT subjects.
