Hello! My name is Taelor! I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts with a long and rigorous academic history! In high school I took a total of 7 AP courses, and have achieved manage to achieve the status of "AP Scholar". On the ACT I achieved a score of 27 and on the SAT made a 1750. In he past, I worked for two non-profit youth organizations, where I taught various subjects based on the needs of the organization and mentored children of all ages. Thus, I believe that I have sufficient skills for tutoring. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy working with kids and I believe that I have the appropriate skills and disposition to do so. It is also very fulfilling to know that I can help someone increase their potential, move past obstacles, and gain more confidence in their abilities. My approach to tutoring is very centered around the student. I take into consideration their interests and their learning style in order to tailor our tutoring sessions to their needs. I am also very patient and understanding when a student needs extra attention and I have no problem with going out of my way to make sure they understand the material. However, I do not spoon-feed my students. I merely facilitate their learning process and equip them with the skills that they will need to work out problems on their own and study effectively in the future.
