Education
B.A. in History from Washington University in St. Louis with a minor in American Culture Studies and a focus in African-American Studies
Experience
I have always wanted to teach to communicate my passion for both the written word and the various other ways we record our views for future generations (art, film, popular culture, etc.). I think that the refining the process of learning and passing on knowledge is one of the most important things humankind has done in its history. Some of my qualifications include the following: - Currently working at Match Next Charter in Jamaica Plain - 35.25 average ACT composite score - Was scholarship chairman over a Greek organization that had the highest GPA and most 4.0 students out of any fraternity - Once served as the office manager and later on the Board of Directors for a startup non-profit that was acquired by Washington University

Hobbies
- Improv comedy - I was a performer in and 2-year treasurer of K.A.R.L. Improv (former ImprovNews #1 ranked collegiate improv team) - Theater - I performed both through Washington University's Performing Arts Department and three student groups. - Sports - I love following sports (Boston teams all the way). I also was captain of a top-15 ranked club team in high school (CESA 91 Premier), and tied a national record with my high school team for most consecutive state championships in any sport (10). - I am a huge tech geek, even though it wasn't my real area of study. I am familiar with many programming languages, LOVE building computers from scratch, and am a total nerd when it comes to keyboards. - I am an avid consumer of culture. I read a lot of books, watch television and movies, listen to music, and play video games. I see every one of those items as a unique expression (intentional or otherwise) of some person or group's view at a given time. - I collect old video games and video game consoles. - My favorite TV shows as a kid were Megan XLR, Invader Zim, Seinfeld, and (when my parents would let me watch it) The Simpsons. - I have a near-encyclopedic knowledge of the X-Files. - My favorite movie is Blazing Saddles (recognizing its age appropriateness) and my favorite book of all time is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. - Much of my extended family is from Duxbury, MA. I, however, was born in New Haven, moved to South Carolina when I was 12, moved to St. Louis for school in 2010, and have moved back to New England within the last year.
