Education

I graduated from Fairview High School with honors in 2014. I am now a sophomore at Northeastern University studying biochemistry with a minor in environmental science.

Experience

I tutored math, science, history, Spanish, and almost any other subject you can think of throughout high school. I love helping people understand a hard concept, and watching a student master something they've been struggling with is incredibly rewarding. I took 6 AP tests throughout high school, so I'm very familiar with the AP format and how to study for those tests. I have also taken an IB test so I am able to tutor to that format as well. I am familiar with the SAT and the ACT as well, and I scored a 2220 and a 32 on each respectively. I have taken many science classes at a university level, and I have completed calculus up to Calc 3, so I am very comfortable teaching math and science. I have volunteered at a hippotherapy clinic for the past 3 years, so I have experience working with kids with autism and physical disabilities. I have also worked with students with ADD.

Hobbies

I have been playing piano for 13 years, and I have a passion for music. I also love science and when I graduate I hope to go into malaria research. I love learning new things, and I know way more fun facts than I probably should. I grew up in Boulder so I love hiking, skiing, and the outdoors. As a tutor, I really want to help my students figure out problems by themselves, not just tell them the answers myself. I want my students to do well, but I also believe in a balance between school and fun.
