I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching and a BA in History from Simmons College. I am licensed to teach History and English Language Arts to fifth through twelfth graders, and am currently taking the Sheltered English Immersion class. Last summer, I taught Math and English Language Arts to fifth graders through the Summer Learning Project on Thompson Island. There, I worked with Outward Bound instructors both in the classroom and in an outdoor, social/emotional learning environment.
Experience
I am currently teaching World History and Biology at Phoenix Charter Academy in Chelsea. I have also taught Writer's Workshop and Psychology. Before teaching, I worked as a Behavioral Health Professional in the Bangor, Maine area. During this time, I served children with developmental and emotional challenges, such as autism and ADHD, and their families. Together, we strategiezed ways for students to thrive both academically and emotionally.
