I am Aoune Barhoumi, a 48 years old male with a true passion to science. I have been tutoring for more than 15 years now and have had great success with my students. I have a large range of teaching experience from very young to adult where I taught a wide range of scientific subjects ranging from pre-calculus and pre-algebra to organic chemistry I began tutoring when I was in college; I use to teach math, physics and chemistry for middle school students during the summer. During my graduate school, I worked as a tutor at the tutoring services at Marshall University. Subjects ranged from algebra, geometry, trigonometry, to calculus, calculus-based physics, and chemistry. During my PhD and postdoctoral studies, I worked as a private tutor with students ranging from middle school to college-age, and non-traditional students. My role went beyond tutoring scientific subjects to providing assistance with exam preparation, applying for colleges and graduate schools. I helped many students learn scientific concepts, improve their grades, acquire effective test-prep practices and finally get to their dream colleges. I highly prefer one-on-one tutoring and enjoy inspire my students by engaging them with fun and challenging scientific problems. I like to show my students how science works in real life and how the hardest scientific concepts can be portrayed in very illustrative examples. Bringing science from abstract concepts to concrete examples allow students to understand the relevance of science in our daily life.
