Private tutor in Boston, MA
University of Notre Dame - BA, English, Philosophy
I received my bachelor's degree in English and philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. I am now pursuing a master's degree in English education. As a student, I had the opportunity to serve as a peer tutor at the Writing Center on campus. There, I worked with both graduate and undergraduate students to help them improve their writing. I have also worked with students at a local middle school on math and reading in preparation for standardized exams.I am fully bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish fluently. I developed my Spanish fluency while living in Spain for six months. This is also where I developed my love for tutoring those learning the English language. I tutor many courses, including all levels of Spanish, reading, writing, phonics, literature, grammar and mechanics, writing and editing essays, public speaking, and associated AP and IP courses. I am also available to help students prepare for standardized exams such as the SAT, ACT, and CLEP. Additionally, I enjoy helping students improve their study and organizational skills in order to improve overall academic performance.I firmly believe in student-centered education. I endeavor to support my students in solving problems on their own in order to develop their academic confidence. When I'm not helping my students succeed, I enjoy acting, reading, cooking, traveling, and sports.
