Private tutor in Boston, MA
Allegheny College - BS, Biology , Boston University - PhD , Cell and Molecular Biology
As a tutor, I can offer my pupils assistance with essay editing, algebra, calculus, English, biology, AP biology, microbiology, biochemistry, life sciences, developmental biology, molecular genetics, virology, laboratory, genetics, cell biology, biotechnology, quantitative reasoning, IB Biology HL, IB Biology SL, ACT science, immunology, and help with general study skills and organization. I have firsthand experience in the classroom, as I currently serve as a graduate teaching fellow in Instructional Biology at Boston University and as a research mentor for undergraduate students. As for my own educational background, I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in French from Allegheny College, and I'm now pursuing a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology at Boston University. Because I've discovered that I learn best visually, I believe in gearing my teaching to serve each students' unique strengths and learning styles. I believe a great tutor needs to be patient, passionate, and engaging when it comes to helping a student achieve his or her academic goals. When I'm not working with my students, I enjoy skiing, hiking, cooking, listening to music, going to the gym, heading to the beach, and visiting museums around Boston.
