Private tutor in Boston, MA
Yale University - BS, Psychology
I am presently attending graduate school at Yale, where I previously earned my Psychology degree with a Neuroscience emphasis. When I was a high school student in LA, I tutored my classmates in various math courses and ESL students in Critical Reading and Writing. While an undergrad I taught biology, physics, and chemistry in the New Haven public schools and was again a tutor for my fellow classmates, this time in calculus. I've tutored in computer science and even taught in Sao Paulo, Brazil as an elementary school teacher of English. I like teaching a wide variety of subjects, but my specialty is math, from elementary school level all the way up through calculus. I also help students prepare for standardized testing, like the PSAT, SAT, and placement tests. Not only that, I am also able to tutor in ESL/ELL. I believe teaching requires empathy, intelligence, patience, and providing a nurturing environment. When I tutor students, I am not only a teacher, but a kind of cheerleader, rooting them on towards a successful educational journey. It helps them to know that I am in their corner. In my free time, I can be found cooking, eating, dancing, and grabbing a delicious coffee or ice cream with my friends.
