I am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching English. I graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor's degree in English. After graduation, I completed a master's degree in Education from Simmons College. After obtaining my teaching certification, I taught English at a high school in Massachusetts. I am comfortable tutoring students in Writing, Reading, American Literature, British Literature, Creative Writing, Grammar and Mechanics, Literary Analysis, Persuasive Writing, and Poetry.My primary focus as a teacher is helping students who struggle in my classes. Many students feel like writing and reading are unimportant. But I have a passion for helping students see just how relevant these subjects are. I love specializing in language arts because I feel it is something that is important for all students to learn. While writing and reading may seem like any other academic skill, they actually have many additional benefits. These skills provide students with the abilities to communicate with others, understand and learn from history, and add new perspectives to their already existing worldviews. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing the guitar, and cooking. Additionally, I helped create a green space that grows food for my community. This project has led to me developing a love for gardening and foraging for wild food.
