ExperienceI am a tutor with expertise in a variety of school subjects, such as reading, writing, essay editing, English, study skills, literature, and grammar and mechanics. Additionally, I also can offer assistance with test prep for different standardized exams, including SAT verbal and writing, GRE verbal, PSAT critical reading, and ACT reading and writing. To help my students improve in their writing and reading abilities, I am inclined to use a variety of different techniques, enabling students to aptly grasp or understand the specific content material while still making learning fun. I also believe in keeping learning and studying highly dynamic for students. Similarly, when tutoring students, my goal is to have sessions in which students not only learn content material merely for doing well on upcoming tests, but they also understand the concepts and have the expertise to use them as they continue studying the particular topic or subject. I attended Cornell University, where I majored in English and had a minor in music. I went on to earn my BA degree in English from this institution. Presently, I am attending the University of Connecticut working towards a PhD degree in American literature. I currently live in Boston, Massachusetts. In my leisure time, I like to read, hike, bake, sing, and run.
