Experience
I have earned a Master's of Education in Prevention Science and Practice, focusing on Counseling for Adolescents, from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In addition to this, I completed my MA in English Literature in China, at the Peking University. Since then, I have enjoyed doing work with young people. I have tutored college students in writing essays, both academic and for applications. I have worked with students of all ages tutoring in Mandarin Chinese, and tutored adults who are intent on improving their English as a Second Language. I also have experience tutoring in Algebra, English/ Language Arts, and general study skills. I can tutor a number of subjects, but my passion is teaching essay writing and Mandarin Chinese. I have found that when I work with students who are interested in learning the Chinese language and Chinese culture, learning tends to happen both ways between us. I especially enjoy getting to know my students well by helping them build essays for application, so that we can work together towards a bright future for them academically and beyond. I truly believe it takes education to improve individuals and society as a whole. I am very encouraging to my students. In my free time, I like listening to music, reading, writing, and swimming.
