Experience
I have an innate desire to learn, in particular science and math topics. I attended Virginia Commonwealth University for my undergraduate degree in biology, and UW - Madison for a PhD in biochemistry. I enjoy working with students at all ages and levels of ability to help them learn science and math subjects. Every student is different, but I give them all the same effort, whether they are struggling with basic concepts or trying to gain admission to a top-tier University. Often when students struggle these topics, it's because of frustration or boredom. I help by explaining topics in easier ways, and I take dry material and make it interesting and attainable. I often accomplish this by providing anecdotes or by relating concepts we are studying to new discoveries or things students know to make them more interesting. I show students why this information is important. When I have free time, I like to play with my dog, exercise by riding my bike or going for a run, cooking, reading, and going out to eat.
