Teaching is an innate function for me. Even as a young girl, I wanted to help other kids master the skills I had. Whether it was the simple rite of learning how to ride a bike, or skiing down a hill, or something as easy as learning a new game, I always had time to help others learn how to do it right.That desire followed me throughout my education. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Boston University, followed by a master's degree in Divinity at Episcopal Divinity School. Along the way, I have taught, mentored, and coached kids wherever I could. It gives me joy to see others succeed, no matter what the challenge might be. In addition to tutoring students of elementary school age in several subjects, I helped a Chinese-speaking woman in my neighborhood to learn English. Subjects I enjoy teaching include Reading, Phonics, Writing, Grammar and Mechanics, Elementary Math, ESL/ELL, and English.In my spare time, I enjoy classical and choral music. Another of my passions is working with dogs. Currently, I have a dog who earned a Beginner Novice title from the American Kennel Club, and who makes regular visits to a medical facility as a therapy dog.
