Experience
Current nursing student, bioengineering graduate; tutored Spanish, English, Math, and Physics privately and through tutoring programs (i.e. Kumon). My tutees have shown improvement in high school Math and Physics from a C to an A. I graduated from the Simmons 14-month BSN program. Of the nursing courses I've taken, I'm comfortable tutoring pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology. During undergrad as a bioengineering student, I coordinated an 8-wk long STEM outreach program for underprivileged high school students. I feel strongly about the importance of exposing students to engineering opportunities and exploring their creativity through design projects. I've tutored previously, and one of the reasons I would like to go back to tutoring is to be able to help foster different ways of thinking or expanding one's knowledge. My work experience includes working in the pharmaceutical industry, biomedical research, and (currently) clinical research; if you'd like, I would love to share my experiences with you in person! My schedule is flexible on the weekends; I am willing to meet with you at a convenient location (e.g. public library, coffee shop).
