EducationMy degrees are in health and human sciences, and have long enjoy subjects in math and science. One aspect of my current work involves coaching colleagues on quality improvement methodology, which includes basic statistical analysis and algebraic concepts.
My degrees are described as follows:
Ithaca College, Health Sciences with a Pre-medical emphasis, minor in Nutrition Science, GPA 3.78
Boston University School of Public Health, Maternal and Child Health, GPA 3.59
ExperienceI have experience tutoring high school and college-aged students in chemistry, statistics, and other sciences and math courses. I have also had several students requesting help on the math portion of the GREs. I have been tutoring high school students as well as young professionals in various neighborhoods in Boston since 2011.
I enjoy tutoring because it allows one-on-one interaction for student and tutor, which gives me the pleasure of getting to know my students and their learning style on a more intimate level.
I am willing to meet students who are accessible via the T, either the bus or the subway. I have also successfully held sessions over Skype, for individuals that are outside the Boston area. Please message me if you have any questions! My availability recorded on this site is not the extent of times I am available, I am flexible and will consider meeting on weekends if no other times are feasible.
HobbiesI enjoy music, walking, and swimming. I LOVE to cook and talk about food. Having grown up on a vegetable farm, I love fresh foods and nature. :) I'm always happy to share homemade treats in good company, even with my students.
I am training for my first full marathon this year! I would gladly receive any tips on long distance running and/or injury prevention.

Ann is very sweet and patient. She really wants to make sure you understand the material and she breaks it down really well. She's also very flexible and accommodating. I enjoyed my sessions with her and I highly recommend her as a tutor.
Ann is a good tutor. She is professional and very nice to me. She also had patience in trying to get me to learn math. I have problem with math especially word problems but after Ann had tutored me, I had a better understanding in Math. Although, I still didn't do that well on the math portion of the GRE, I think I would have done worst without Ann's help. So I would recommend her for those who have math troubles. Winnie
Ann worked with my 16 yr old daughter in Algebra 2 for 5 months. My daughter was almost 2 terms behind in school and ended up finishing the year at home with a couple of sessions a week with Ann this past year. Ann is very professional, personable and we absolutely absolutely adore her. My daughter did the best she has ever done in math while working with Ann. Ann is the absolute best and I will definitely keep her in mind if we are in need of a tutor again.
When I first started meeting with Ann I had been preparing for the GRE for a few months. Ann definitely helped me to see where I was having the most trouble, and gave me study and test taking tips. Ann helped me with the writing sections of the GRE. She definitely helped to improve my score, as well as my confidence in taking the GRE. I definitely suggest Ann as a tutor!
Ann was an excellent tutor. I needed help with the math section of the GRE and she took her time to help me with practice questions. She was very thorough and personable and made sure to follow up with any of my questions. I would definitely recommend her if you are studying for the GRE's or need help with math in general.
We used Ann H last year to tutor our daughter in Geometry and would highly recommend her services. She worked very well with our teenager each week (who enjoyed getting together with her for the sessions) and saw her grade improve with each marking period. Ann is dependable and very personable and we believe a good role model for the younger student.
