Experience
I attended the University of Wisconsin to earn my bachelor of arts in political science. I also earned a Middle Eastern studies minor. I'm now attending the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, where I'm studying for teaching licensure to instruct secondary level social sciences. As a tutor, I'm strong in geography, political science, history, and other related subjects. When I work with students, I initially get to know them and form a connection. This allows me to know what a student is interested in, what their goals are, and what their abilities are. I then customize my approach to match the learning style of each student, which assists in effective learning and retention. I also focus on working collaboratively with students, guiding them along through their studies without giving away answers. I believe the student needs to be hands-on to develop self-sufficient learning skills. I can teach subjects like history, government and politics, English, writing, essays, world religions, political science, social studies, public speaking, geography, and test preparation for the GED, PRAXIS, AP exams, and others. When I have free time, I enjoy producing music, and I work for an educational software company composing music for educational games. I also enjoy the theater, reading, writing, video games, and films.
