Experience

I'm a Boston College student pursuing my doctorate in developmental and educational psychology. Before this, I went to Harvard to earn my masters degree in education, and I have an undergraduate psychology degree from Hawaii Pacific University as well. I have taught at the high school and middle school levels for six years, and I'm adept at helping students with learning and developmental disabilities as well as students who struggle in the classroom to learn material. When I work with students, I figure out what they know and what they need to know, and I set short and long-term goals with them. I figure out how students learn best, and then I use those strategies to help them learn. I also take pride in my ability to help students learn how to learn, including how to handle making mistakes in a positive way. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, running, and spending time with animals.
