Experience
I attended General Whitman College, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology. I then went on to obtain my master's degree in Neurobiology. Also, I am a painter. I find inspiration in both the logic and visual beauty of the world. I teach meditation, and this informs my abilities as a tutor, in that I am able to help students alleviate their anxiety towards studying or test taking. I've had the opportunity to travel around the world, and spent time in Chinese, where I taught English to Chinese students, and learned Mandarin. I've also spent time in Israel (where I earned my master's degree), Germany, India, and Southeast Asia. I continue to love learning new things, and bring this enthusiasm to my tutoring sessions, where it is usually very infectious, motivating my students to really care about the subjects they are learning. I am especially passionate about science subjects, particularly biology, but I am qualified to tutor a variety of subjects, including language arts and math, as well as a lot of science classes, including some AP subjects. I take a creative approach to tutoring, and my students have a good time with me, while also successfully overcoming their learning obstacles.
