Experience
Education is more than just preparing for exams and memorizing classroom material. It's also about developing a professional relationship between student and teacher that inspires both parties to become better. I don't believe that there is a right or wrong way to teach and learn, but rather a way that works best for the individual student. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, and a good teacher is someone who can help students build upon their existing skill sets so that they're able to work with the knowledge that they already have. I graduated from Boston College with a master's degree in international relations and political science. A bulk of my students focused on the Middle East and the Arab Spring, where I looked at a number of factors that led up to this movement. I have an extensive background in social sciences, which has given me the opportunity to study at Cambridge University, the National University of Singapore, and Venice International University. I love looking at globalization and how it affects the modern world in a number of ways, from business to economic sustainability. Along with social sciences, I also teach writing, public speaking, and ACT test prep. My hobbies include skiing, running, and cooking.
