Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Economics and my master's in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. Currently I work full time as a Geometry and Algebra teacher in the Los Angeles area. Those, along with Trigonometry, are my favorites areas of Math, but I am also credentialed to teach any other level of high school Mathematics. Throughout many years working as a teacher and personal tutor I have developed a strategy that focuses on showing students the links between different concepts, as well as how they apply to the real world. I think it is crucial to develop ways for them to process information so after their time with me they can go forward and build on things they have already learned. Study habits are also a theme that I reinforce in my lessons, as I think once students get into good behaviors they will then be able to apply those skills no matter how difficult or different the material is in the subjects they pursue. In my free time I like to stay active by hiking, gardening, or playing table tennis. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and listening to music.
