Education

American University - Bachelors, History

Experience

I have always been interested in history, so after high school graduation, I attended the American University where I earned my bachelor's degree in History. I have had experience tutoring a lot of history classes, including American history, world history, government, AP history, politics, and so on. I have also tutored students in general topics such as reading, writing, and a variety of language arts and social science/ social studies subjects. I can also work with students on basic study skills and organization, as well as help them as they prepare for standardized tests such as the SSAT, SAT, ACT, and others. My tutoring experience includes aiding my professors in tutoring their younger students, and working with elementary school students. I enjoy working with students of any age. I am planning to earn my PhD in history. I believe tutoring is beneficial for both tutor and student. As a note of interest, I wrote my bachelor's thesis about pregnant women who were convicted of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials of 1692. Outside of history and teaching, I enjoy reading, singing, writing, and playing the French horn and flute.
