Bryan C.
Private tutor in Boston, MA
Education
B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from University of Connecticut, grad year: 2017, GPA: 3.8. I graduated as an Honors scholar, Magna Cum Laude, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. I also completed a senior thesis as per the honors program requirements. My thesis discussed how a prevalent set of viruses hide from and disrupt the human immune system, how current treatments work, and new ways to treat them.
Experience
I've taken a number of relevant classes through my degree. These include intro biology, genetics, cell biology, cancer cell biology, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, mammalian endocrinology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and ecology. Many of these courses were taken at the Honors level. I have completed a summer science internship at an academic affiliate of Weill Cornell Medicine. I am also currently working in a research lab at a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital in Boston. I believe that the most effective strategy a tutor can use is to teach the student effective study habits in addition to teaching them the material. Everybody learns differently, and figuring out how you learn is integral to success in school. These study habits will be something that they can carry with them throughout their school careers.
