Meltem D.

Private tutor in Boston, MA

Education

B.A. Amherst College, Physics and Astronomy, M.S. Mechanical Engineering, University of Massachusetts Amherst, PhD student at UMass Amherst

Experience

I worked as a high school math and physics teacher at Worcester Academy at Worcester, MA. During college I worked as a peer tutor, grader and teaching assistant for various courses at Amherst College. During my time at UMass Amherst I also worked as a teaching assistant for several Mechanical Engineering courses. I scored 800 on the SAT Math when I took it in 2000, and 800 in SAT2 Chemistry, 790 in SAT2 Physics and 700 in SAT2 Writing. My GRE Math score is also 800. I took the GRE in 2005. I think my background in the sciences and math as well as my teaching experience makes me a good tutor. I would like to tutor mainly because I want to supplement my graduate student stipend but I also enjoy working with a student and helping them understand seemingly difficult concepts (especially in Physics!) .
