Experience
My expertise is in the Spanish language. I majored in Spanish and global politics in my undergraduate studies. Since then I have traveled and worked in Peru teaching English and I also enjoyed the opportunity to serve in a full-immersion Spanish language camp. I currently teach English as a second language in public schools and provide Spanish instruction on a one-on-one and small group basis.I am an avid proponent of Spanish and enjoy seeing people gain a level of competency in the subject because I realize they are also being given a window into the nearly twenty cultures around the globe that speak the language. My teaching background has allowed me to develop the skills to assess student strengths and weaknesses and draw from a variety of curricular delivery strategies that will enhance the learning experience. I take great pride in seeing students become competent in their Spanish speaking and realize that in today's global environment a facility with multiple languages is advantageous.On a personal note I enjoy a variety of activities that involve the great outdoors - from fishing to hiking and all things in between. I invite you to learn how to speak and write in Spanish with me.
