Education

Boston University - Bachelor of Science, Secondary Social Studies Education

Experience

I attended Boston University for my bachelor's degree in secondary social studies education. I'm licensed as a history teacher for fifth grade through 12th grade in the state of Massachusetts. As a student teacher, I taught US government and American history at the high school level. I also worked in the undergraduate admissions office at Boston University for four years, and I can help students with the college admissions process. I can tutor a number of different topics, but my favorites are college prep, government, and history. I enjoy helping students learn, and I prioritize helping students develop a foundational understanding of the subject. In math you can't move on to calculus if you don't understand algebra, and the same thing is true in the subjects I teach. It's difficult to understand the Constitution if you don't understand the Revolutionary war. I believe a good education leads to a successful career and life, and I want to help be a part of making a student's education better. When I have free time, I love politics, doing yoga, visiting family and friends, running, and hiking.
