Experience
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Boston Latin Academy. I received my Juris Doctor degree from American University Washington College of Law. During my time in law school I found I had a gift for legal writing and was published in the Administrative Law Review. During my undergraduate studies I worked as a senior camp counselor and managed a group of junior counselors. During my graduate studies I was an editor for the Administrative Law Review where I edited and managed the editing staff. My passion is for writing and I love helping students learn to love the written language as much as I do. Additionally, I enjoy helping students build their test taking skills. Some of the tests I help students prepare for include the LSAT, ISEE, SAT, MCAS, PSAT, and AP exams. The core subjects I tend to work with are literature, beginning Latin, creative writing, and critical writing. My experience in tutoring and from the many standardized tests I have personally taken has led me to the conclusion that the unifying principle common across disciplines and subjects is the need for good critical thinking skills. I focus on strategies that develop these skills with my students. When I'm not tutoring or working I enjoy yoga, Irish step dance, reading, running, traveling, and cooking.
