Experience
My name is Rachel. I am 23 years old and I just graduated from Cornell with my Bachelors in Biological Engineering as well as my Masters in Mechanical Engineering. I have just begun a job working in downtown Boston. I have been tutoring for almost 8 years now, both in my hometown and in Ithaca. I worked as a tutor at Cornell both through the Athletic Department and the Engineering Department. I have worked with a wide range of ages, from first grade up through post-collegiate a. I have also tutored a wide variety of subjects, though my strongest subjects are those in the science and mathematics fields. For Math, I have tutored everything from algebra and trigonometry up to single and multivariable calculus. For the Sciences, I have tutored physics (kinematics and E&M), biology, biochemistry, chemistry (general and organic). I am also a good computer programmer. I know C++, Matlab, Java, Visual Basic, and Python. I have tutored in Matlab and Java. I have also done a fair amount of Test Prep and have a very good handle on how to prepare for standardized tests. I have worked with students to prepare for APs, SAT, ACT, GRE, SSAT, and ESL. I am eager to help anyone who needs it. I genuinely enjoying working with students and helping them develop skills that will not only help them succeed in the classroom, but also in life. A truly successful tutor should unfortunately/fortunately be out of a job in a couple months because the student has learned to manage their work effectively and efficiently all on their own! I look forward to helping students reach their full potential!

Hobbies
I have always loved being outdoors. I basically grew up in a tree as a child. I played soccer for 9 years before I started competitively running. I have been doing that since I was 16. At Cornell I was an 5 time All-American 3 season athlete on the Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track teams. I also love to swim, bike, hike, and rock climb. As for indoor activities, the list is also plentiful. I love to cook and bake. I love to read and write a little too. I enjoy being crafty and completing DIY projects. I knit and I crochet. I love watching movies and listening to music. I like to relax and have a good time with family and friends :)
