Education

Currently a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University. Received my PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May 2013. I received my master's degree in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May 2009. I received my undergraduate degree majoring in English, minoring in Biology at Birmingham-Southern College in 2007.

Experience

I have tutored privately for middle, high school, and college students for the past 8 years. I have also co-instructed several master's level courses at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I have experience in several subject areas, and I am truly dedicated and invested in the success of each one of my students. My goal is to make working together enjoyable and effective. Having been a student for the majority of my life, I am able to connect with students very well and help them in ways that others may not be able to.

Hobbies

When I am not working, I enjoy a variety of things. I do (non-advanced) ballet when I get the chance, I am an avid reader, and enjoy being around others, particularly friends and loved ones. I also like to try my hand with creative things such as cooking and DIY projects, although some turn out better than others!
